In Italy and Europe, the waste disposal and treatment sector is constantly evolving and undergoing a transformation that is not only technological but conceptual, linked to the need to reduce environmental impact through research, innovation and more strategic waste management.
This sector, which is required to constantly offer highly efficient and sustainable solutions, employs over 2 million people in Europe.
Sustainable waste management is the cornerstone of all solutions aimed at addressing the growth in waste production and the “environmental issue”. This development involves institutions and private companies and is producing a structural change that includes:
– the push towards a circular economy: Europe has set itself the goal of reducing waste by 50% by 2030. This transition requires significant investments in infrastructure and technologies to promote and implement the reduction, recycling and recovery of resources.
– the introduction of more stringent regulations: the Green Deal has set ambitious goals, such as the ban on landfilling recyclable waste by 2035, to push recycling and waste reduction.
– the adoption of advanced technologies: artificial intelligence and automation systems are revolutionising waste collection, transport and treatment. In 2023, the waste management technology sector saw a 15% growth in Europe.
– improved plastic waste management: plastic still represents one of the main environmental challenges today. In 2023 alone, Europe produced over 30 million tonnes of plastic waste, making the implementation of innovative solutions for recovery and recycling essential.
Addressing these challenges requires a strategic approach and strong synergy between all operators. This is why an event like Ecomondo represents a fundamental meeting place for those who work in the waste sector: a place to share ideas and visions, common stimuli that can nourish a sector that aims to achieve greater efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
The three companies of Indaco Holding, I.M.G.2, Ingeco and Esposito Servizi Ecologici, are committed every day not only to the quality of services, but also to the improvement of operating models.
We continually invest in people, technologies and operating models to improve our contribution.
We consider waste management a shared responsibility. Every choice in this area has repercussions on the environment, communities and the territory.
This is why we are participating in Ecomondo again this year, to put our knowledge at the service of customers, suppliers and partners and gather the best stimuli to explore new ideas and build synergies.
Come and visit us during Ecomondo 2024, we are at Pavilion B3 – Stand 206: together we will better understand the path to follow towards increasingly innovative and efficient waste management.
