Davanti ai rifiuti, l’unica risposta efficace è investire.

When faced with waste, the only answerWaste is a problem that is difficult to bury.
All companies and organizations that operate in the field of waste treatment and disposal know this very well.
But, increasingly, ordinary citizens are also aware of it. To notice the emergency and the need to find rapid solutions, you don’t need to be an expert, just look at the tons of waste that are sent to landfills every year.an effective solution is to invest.

However, as highlighted by our CEO, Fabio Meloni, in his speech at Ecomondo 2019, the professionals in the sector have a thorough knowledge of the dynamics, obstacles and needs of a sector that, although one might imagine it to always be similar to itself, is instead in continuous and necessary evolution.
Not only in technological terms, but in terms of competence, strategy and methodology.

Landfill space is not infinite. In fact, it is increasingly less available and, consequently, more expensive.
Just think, for example, of the annual tons of urban waste collected in Lombardy: more than 4,550,000, of which only 62% gave rise to the recovery of materials and only 24% was used for energy production.
Even more impressive is the production of special waste, that coming from agricultural and industrial activities: more than 16,800,000 tons per year.
(Data 2017 and 2016 Arpa Lombardia)

It is easy to understand that the valorization of space is the fulcrum around which the entire system revolves. Or, perhaps, it would be interesting to see it as the stimulus or the call to improve the system itself.
Faced with the scarcity of space, the answer is to treat waste in a qualitative way. With the aim of exponentially increasing the percentages of reusable materials recovered and the quantity of waste that can be sent to waste-to-energy plants.
To maximize the residual spaces of landfills.

There is a need for quality in waste and waste treatment. Investing is not only important, but fundamental.
Moreover: investing is not a choice, it is a necessity.
And it is not just an investment in machinery and technologies, which of course must be continuously renewed and improved, to respond in an increasingly automated and efficient way to the challenges of this sector.
But there is also a necessary investment in people, in skills, in methodologies.

The delicate point, however, becomes time. In particular, the response times of the bodies that grant authorizations to the plant and that, at times, take a year or even two years to issue authorizations and permits.
Of course, in those two years, the market has changed further, the demand for landfills or waste-to-energy plants has changed. And therefore the plant, which has just obtained authorization to improve its operations, must already take into consideration new developments. And, therefore, new investments.
And here the vicious (and virtuous) circle begins again.

IMG2, which has been active in the waste disposal and treatment sector for many years, is investing heavily in the direction of efficiency.

With strategic and courageous choices. For example, from a single company, through a logic of targeted acquisitions, it has become a group of three companies, each with its own specific skills that, in collaboration with those of the other companies, significantly increase the operational capacity, both in quantitative and qualitative terms.
IMG2, Ingeco and Esposito Servizi Ecologici have become a group of three companies that daily share services, skills, visions, means, the three plants. And, above all, the determination of all the people who make them up to respond in a precise, intelligent and targeted way to the increasingly demanding requests of the sector.
